Pre K kids explore the SMALLab by rolling a tracked object to other students. This is a great example of how easy it is to lead instruction in SMALLab.

Students work together as a class to place the numbers in order using SMALLab Orderline. Note how engaged the class is during the lesson and how they work together. SMALLab research shows a 6.7X increase in engagement when kids learn this way. It is very easy to see in this example.

These 4th graders collaborated to develop a plan for how to identify the pattern in the lesson. It only took them 12 minutes and a few tries to discover that a (-) * (-) = +

Students collaborate and add fractions by adjusting the height of their arms. This enables students to embodied this very difficult concept and improve their understanding by 86%.

The excitement this class is showing while learning about phases of the moon is contagious. As they progress students develop strategies to communicate effectively so they can solve the game in time.

Students must collaborate to hit the target by using the virtual mirrors to reflect the laser. This is a great design based challenge that can be student created as well. 

Students have to place balls into the play area and observe how they interact with the other objects then develop strategies to adapt and win the game. This offers great critical thinking learning opportunities for students of all ages. 

Students must raise and lower their arms to control their colors and also collaborate to match the target color in the center. At the higher levels help from your classmates is a huge help.  

The students collaborate to match the target wavelength and move the object to the color spectrum. This inquiry based embodied learning session enables students to learn this difficult and abstract concept in a very effective way. 

A driving robot is set loose in the SMALLab with instructions to changes its speed and drive in a circle while the SMALLab is used to capture its performance, create graphs, and output data for the class to analyze. What a great Project Based Learning opportunity!

The instructor provides an overview of how to teach students about chemistry titration using embodied learning in SMALLab. The virtual experience in SMALLab enables students to collaborate while exploring chemistry from inside the beaker. This type of learning creates 86% learning gains for students. 

A teacher discusses how to use the SMALLab virtual environment and embodied learning to help students understand forces and how they act on moving objects controlled by the students. Students get to see and feel the force vectors in real time. 

Students have to claim the attributes that belong to their cell type by raising their arm above their head and entering their circle. This provides a great embodied learning lesson and requires the collaboration of the rest of the class at the same time.
