SMALLab

Student Multimedia Accelerated Learning Lab

SMALLab is a 3D mixed reality learning environment where students actively engage both their mind and body to learn new and/or challenging subjects, rather than solely listening to lectures and/or watching demonstrations. It’s an approach to teaching we call embodied learning.

Installed in a classroom, media center or other designated space, SMALLab takes students from behind their desks and immerses them in more than a 1,000 interactive, standard-aligned learning activities. Students and teachers love the immersive experience, and research conducted over five years at Arizona State University demonstrates SMALLab increases student achievement, improves teacher performance, and drives more student-led learning.
